I know that Utopias is going to be good, but I'd pay the money just for that bottle.

So, out of curiosity, is the Utopias worth the price of admission?

I didn't hesitate, but I've had it before and it's incredible. If you're in to the whole craft beer thing, it's a must buy at least once. Also keep in mind you don't drink thus like a beer, but instead like a scotch. It lasts a long time.

Just got back from skiing actually for the first time in 2 years (knee dislocations tend to slow you up).
I think you're right. Beer time! Bring on the budweiser.

Out here in AZ I have never even seen a bottle.

It's not something you see unless you ask about it. Find a quality liqueur store that has a decent craft beer supply and I would bet they either have a bottle in the back, or at least know where you might be able to get it. It is fairly rare however.

What kind of beer is it? Price?

I have asked and looked (aware of the price) and I know every craft beer shop in a rather large radius. We just don't get much, if any, of this distributed to our region.
I've debated ordering a bottle from a place in SoCal, but haven't had the spare money recently.
It's one of those holy grail beers. Which is why I've asked.

It kind of defies classification. It uses a blend of noble and regional hops that creat a caramel malt type base. It's then aged for about 10-15 years in bourbon barrels before being finished in wood casks and rum barrels. You can definitely pick up the bourbon and rum notes in it. The true alcohol by volume differs with each release. The 2012 has an abv over 27%.
Price is usually around $200.00 for the bottle.

So much money! I've never seen a bottle in person. Might have to buy one at some point though, although I hope if I do the bottle will not have a wang on it. Just sayin'

yeah, I'm jealous. And more than a little. However, I can say that there has been a bottle of DuClaw Colossus chillin' in my fridge for the last 2 years. Saving it, letting it mature for the time being.
